Responsible manufacturing

We always try to be honest and up front in the way we run our business, and we want to stay mindful that we live in a world that has limited resources. All our ideas and designs have to stand up to that scrutiny.

We are so proud of the fact that all our cosmetics are made in Britain. Not only does this help our manufacturing industry, but it also significantly reduces the carbon footprint of each product.

We don’t spend lots of money on building our brand; we spend it on top quality ingredients instead. We believe building the brand is up to you. If we deserve it, we know you’ll tell others. That’s what we do as women; we share the good things we’ve found with our friends.

We don’t ‘hide’ empty spaces in any of our products to make them look bigger than they are. What you see is what you get; otherwise it’s not honest.

We also think about the implications on waste – that’s why all our outer packaging (the lovely purple with flowers on) is cut as sleeves rather than boxes. Sleeves tessellate better. This means we can fit more on to a sheet of card without producing any cutting waste; little things, but then we believe little things count.

All the materials we use to send your parcel to you are either recyclable or, in the case of the filler, biodegradable and go on your garden waste. We get all our packaging supplies from a company local to our warehouse and, wherever possible buy clean, used boxes for our dispatching.

None of our products are tested on animals.

Here are a few examples of little things we have done, that we hope make a difference to you, and to the environment:

Lipsticks

The container for the lipstick is exactly the right size for the amount of product in it. It might look small, but it is a standard size lipstick with no empty space underneath it - same amount of product, neater in your bag, kinder for the environment.

Eye shadow compact

Preselected palettes can be frustrating. You may not want all the colours in the selection and then the colour you really love always runs out before the others. There are lots of reasons to love our bespoke compacts:

- You get to choose the exact combination of colours that you want.

- When your favourite shade runs out first, just order a refill; no need to buy a whole new compact.

- The mirror is big enough to use when you’re ‘on the go’.

- When you fancy a change just order new colours, or have a couple of compacts for different looks.

Blusher compact

Another refillable compact – and it comes with a fantastic brush made of super soft sable, so you get perfect application when you are out-and-about. When you run out, simply get a refill. You could try a different shade and still not create waste.
